Meet Our Founder
Jeremy Stroud, President
While working towards my degree in marketing with a minor in insurance at the University of South Carolina, I was recruited for an internship by a national life insurance carrier. After a year, I decided that I was interested in the property and casualty side of the business so I began working for an agency in another intern position. Upon my graduation, I went to work for this agency on a full-time basis as a producer.
I’ve always been the type of man who likes to blaze his own path, so working for someone else wasn’t something that I was suited for. As a result of my independent streak, I decided to strike out on my own and began my own agency in January of 2008. My favorite part of what I do is working with my clients. I enjoy getting to know about their family and their needs and making sure that I’m helping them get great protection at a great premium.
One of my greatest supporters has always been my beautiful wife, Susan, because without her encouragement I doubt I would have struck out on my own. This past February we became the proud parents of twins – Luke and Lily – and we couldn’t be happier. I thought I was tired starting a business, but that’s nothing compared to feeding babies in the middle of the night and relieving Susan so that she can grab some rest and a shower!
The newest chapter in the agency is the creation of this website. Our culture is so driven by technology that I felt that I would be able to expand my customer base, improve customer contact, and also strengthen existing client relations by providing an electronic medium to reach us. Having said that, I still welcome a phone call or someone dropping by the office to see the latest pictures of the twins. Look for us on facebook and stay current with premium-saving ideas on our blog. I’m excited about the future and look forward to having all of you as part of our extended family.

Though it’s hard for me to fathom, I began my insurance career about 20 years ago in a small agency located in the outskirts of Atlanta, Georgia. When my husband and I move to Charlotte, I began working in the personal lines underwriting department for a regional carrier and transitioned into commercial lines underwriting a couple of years later. After some corporate downsizing, I made the leap to the agency side of the business and took a position as an account manager.
By nature I’ve always been an outgoing person so even though I loved customer service, I wanted to try my hand at sales. The decision to become a commercial producer was easy even though it meant strange hours, loads of windshield time, and surviving on straight commission. My favorite part of my job was meeting with my clients to make sure that they understood how their coverages worked and to help them maximize their insurance dollars.
After several years as a producer, I was referred to and interviewed with a national wholesaler of high risk commercial insurance. They made me an offer and I decided to make the leap and try another facet of the industry. This job was the most interesting and the most challenging position I’ve held because we insured everything from bars to cranes to colleges. My clients were insurance agents that needed helping insuring these risks and I loved traveling to visit them and negotiating deals on their behalf.
Like many Americans, I was down-sized last Fall and was faced with finding a new job. Fate was good to me again and I was referred to Jeremy Stroud by a mutual friend. What excites me most about this new chapter in my life is that I am now part of a growing business and everything I do can help shape our future. Gone are the days of corporate goals and statistics and I couldn’t be happier!
